Old Testament Bible Survey (Part 2) w/ Rev. Barrington Richards:

OT Survey II focuses on matters ranging from the collapse of the united kingdom of Israel to the Jewish Diaspora, the return of the Israelites to Judah and the struggle for restoration. Various prophetic voices prophecy during these tumultuous years. While all are important, a narrow selection is reviewed to better understand pre-exilic, exilic and post-exilic prophecies. Chronological and historical timelines will be used to connect the kings that governed with the prophets that prophesied to better understand the interrelationship between the historical and prophetic books of the OT. Where necessary, deuterocanonical material will be drawn upon to aid in contextual interpretation. Ultimately, the course’s main goal is to strengthen the faith of each participant to know with certainty, that “without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world and received up in glory.” (I Timothy 3:16)
