The Core OF Faith
What Makes Total Worship Center who we are? Our Foundation.
In the disciple-making process, there must be core values for the ministry. The core values are in place to sustain the spiritual fortitude and strength of TWC’s ministry. Also, it establishes the principles to support the vision of the ministry. Total Worship Center’s scriptural core values are foundational.
One of the foundational Scriptures is recorded by Paul to the Roman believers. In fact, in this passage of Scripture, Paul sets the groundwork for the discipleship-making process which encourages obedience and sacrifice. The Bible declares, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 (KJV)
In addition, an important scriptural reference in the context of core values in ministry encourages individuals to worship God in spirit and in truth. In John’s gospel, particularly the 4th chapter, Jesus is in a conversation with a woman in the proximity or the destination of a well.
The perspectives of the conversation addressed the need to disengage religious or generational overtones and give pause to the true nature of a relationship with Christ and the need to worship God the Father in spirit. In context, Jesus expresses to the woman in a dialogue, the nature and essential core value for disciple-making in ministry, which promotes worship.
John records, “The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:19-24 (KJV)
The application of the above Scriptures will support the principles of Sacrifice and Worship. Also, Total Worship Center’s ministry will incorporate the above principles in its missional value statement. Therefore, the impact of the ministry will yield positive results in the disciple-making process as a hybrid of church (building and location), and small groups.
In a simplistic form, worship expresses to God His worth and supreme value. It is the full expression of the heart (mind, soul and will) that suggests a relational commitment and surrender to God, expressed in an act of obedience, submission, and declaration. (Genesis 22:5; Romans 12:1-2; John 4:23-24)
What does the Bible say about worship? (John 4:23-24)
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (The HOW one worships God, in spirit and in truth)
Elaboration:
Why is it necessary to change the current perspectives that exist on worship?
I believe that many in the world are seeking something beyond superficial and just ordinary life experiences, while in this same season, many in the Body of Christ are also hungering and thirsting for something more than a shallow or surface experience in their relationship with God. It is noted or seen in our society that we are living in the age of AI (meaning) Artificial Intelligence; where Robotics and electronic capabilities are the controlling elements of our society, to provide superior or extraordinary life experiences.
YET, WITH THE PROLIFERATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, MANY ARE STILL SEARCHING FOR MORE!! WELL, I DON’T CARE HOW MUCH ROBOTICS AND THE LATEST ELECTRONIC GADGETS ARE DEVELOPED TO ENHANCE OUR NATURAL SENSITIVITIES, IT CANNOT AND WILL NOT REPLACE THE EXPERIENCE OF ONE ENCOUNTERING THE POWER and PRESENCE OF GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT.
THEREFORE, WE BELIEVE THIS hungering and thirsting many in the Body of Christ are longing for, is a supernatural encounter with the presence of God. A mere shallow or surface encounter by
just taking a 30-second praise break just does not work. In other words, many want to “Go Deeper”. Furthermore, change happens in worship when we go deeper. The Bible declares: Psalm 107:23-31 KJV:
“They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the LORD, And his wonders in the deep. For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, Which lifteth up the waves thereof.”
Finally, it is vitally necessary to change the current perspectives that exist in worship because it appears that the body of Christ has become too “shallow” (meaning adj. Superficial, Glib, Schematic, Slight, Flimsy, Lightweight and Empty)
“Healing is the Children’s Bread”
In the gospel of John Chapter 6 verse 51, Jesus declared about his divine existence on the earth. He said, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
In this critical time and season, we have seen, and some of us have even experienced, that sickness is being digested and eaten so much. Yet, we as children of God must continue to promote and declare our nourishment that is still able to heal, deliver, and set free, which is Jesus, our bread of life.
I don’t care what or how bad the sickness is, the blood of Jesus can heal. In fact, I have a secure relationship with the blood of Jesus, because it is by His blood that I am saved and healed of all my infirmities.
In our text, the prophet Isaiah looks about 600 years forward into the messianic window and sees the Lamb of God slain for the sin of the entire world, and thus paying the ransom for our complete healing. In fact, Isaiah 53:4-5 has been part of our foundational scriptures that determines the right for our complete healing.
It promises the outcome of our healing and prophesied long before Jesus physically took all of our sins, sicknesses, and sorrows, to the cross.
Furthermore, these verses of scripture basically summarize the entire gospel in advance and place finality on who will provide our complete healing. The Bible declares that “by His Stripes/Wounds WE ARE HEALED”
Today we are closing the gaps of the flesh and giving no room to the devil. When Jesus declared it is finished, our healing and our deliverance was complete. Well, I declare to you this afternoon that our Healing is Still the Children’s bread because the Blood still works. I declare supernatural healing to permeate through this life! Eat the spiritual bread.
Earley & Dempsey states, “The process of helping Christians grow and develop spiritually is called disciple making.” In the context of discipleship making, there must be a process and necessary environment for one to know, grow and go for Christ. Also, for a comparative assessment, the same author further determines that, “To be a disciple generally means abandoning the things of the world and following Jesus.” Therefore, there is a distinguishable narrative or journey identifying the process of making disciples and one called to be a disciple. However, the synergistic value is determined by one’s willingness to sacrifice everything and accept the call to be a follower of Christ.
Jesus declared to his disciples, those that were followers of Christ, the nature and journey of discipleship. Suggesting that, the journey will not be self-gratifying; rather it involves one’s commitment, denial, and sacrifice. Jesus declared, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” Matthew 16: 24 (KJV)
In addition, the established environment for cultivating the disciple making process is sanctioned by Jesus Himself which is among a “community of believers.” This involves believers who have responded to the call and mantra to fulfill the “Great Commission” recorded in Matthew 28th Chapter. The question remains, which community of believers properly engage and encourage substantial growth in the disciple make process? Earley & Dempsey states, “Most approaches will agree that the best place to make disciples is inside a small group environment.”
